Fwiw, it looks like the stock tire on the trailhunter is a 265/70R18. Closest to a 33 that we've seen on a stock 4runner/tacoma. Should be around 32.6". I bet you could clear a 285/70R17 or MAYBE even 75 pretty easily. All speculation.

I do think it's dumb that Toyota is shipping out their offroad trims with 18" wheels.

You’re intentionally lying about the 4cyl’s superior power and torque delivery as a character to get a rise out of people on the internet.

think about that. You’re acting like an idiot and pretending to be surprised when people call you one

The one thing Toyota understands and embraces is user modifications. Though some mods risk warranty validity I see issues resolved with creative workarounds. Time will tell and unique mods always are good to see.

Agreed. I dig it and now it makes me rethink a Tacoma purchase

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    Agreed.

18 inch has less options and less Sidewall.
I run 17s. For some dumbass reason we put 18s on my wife's truck.

(Well, the reason was she liked them, the style, so I said put them on then... not thinking to look at size at the time).

I know for a fact there are more available options in 17, from experience.

When you are modding a truck to wheel it, warranty tends to be a bit lower on the totem pole.

Yeh very true...lol. My 96 was decidedly out of warranty when i bought it in 2011. But the dealer put on the lift and bumpers the original owner told me.

Personally, I like it...but I also think it looks like a Tacoma Station Wagon.

100%. Regretting not going for 17" wheels as I shop for replacement tires for my 16's.

Isn't that crazy? I totally remember it being the opposite. Where 16s where the common truck size.

17s have definitely taken that spot. I was also glad I was at 17 this winter. It's the only way you get to fit Lexus brakes on a 1st gen :D

Yeh the LC factory wheels are 16". Was hard to find 35's for them.

When a current F1 car with ground effect downforce is running at 200mph I bet it weighs more than a 4Runner. That’s why it needs 1000hp from that little 1.6l 4banger.

There were several dumpster fires over there, and at least one idiot got banned. I don't like to call people names in these forums, but he posted nothing remotely useful, and most of what he said was incorrect.

Hopefully I didn't make the ignore list. :D

The best engine in any of those HD pickups is a turbo 6, FYI.

And what truth? The fact is that this will be the most powerful engine the 4Runner has gotten since the 2UZ V8.

Looks like dual projector headlights. How long before someone swaps them on to a Tacoma?

Not sure if I like the 4R bumper over the Tacoma bumper. The bumper does have more of a Tundra look with the lower protrusion.
