    I'm not sure I'm following this correctly but I've read that the hot pin on my 7way connector is fused by the BAT CHG 40A. I'm looking at the wire feeding into the 7pin connector and it seems to be lower capacity.

    Does anyone know how many amps I could expect to pull through that circuit?

    You could purchase parts to make a Y connector to intercept and not cut the OEM wire(s).
    Like a custom 5th wheel harness.
