Hey all! New to the forum but been a taco owner for a few years now.

Been looking at upsizing my tires, this past winter I ran 265/70/17s on stock suspension and stock rims with no problems and loved the look! But I just bought some Fast Knuckle rims, 17x9 with 0 offset for some new summer tires. I was hoping to go up to 285/70/17 after adding a 2inch levelling kit but I was seeing some mixed reviews about rubbing and such.

Should I maybe stick with the 265/70/17s? Or add spacers to go to a more agressive offset? Anyone else got a similar set up so I can see some visuals?

Photo has the 265/65/17s that came stock.

I've read a lot of people run 285s on zero offset with no rub. May need to take off the mud flaps.

Hit or miss, alignment plays a big factor in fitment with 285's. Zero offset is a good choice, for least amount chance of rubbing. UCA's will help. Plenty of threads on this, every truck seems to react differently, hence hit, or miss on fitment. I chose to stay with 265/70/17's with 2" lift. Didn't want to deal with rubbing.

0 offset is the right choice but as stated alignment plays a huge factor aswell. I ran 285's on a 17x9 +1 with no chop and rokblokz XL flaps. I would tap the flaps once in awhile but never hit the cab mount. This was on 2"ish lift initially with spc uca's and a custom alignment to give higher caster, then with dirt king uca's and still no issues.
