Don’t worry, I want a dorkel and have live no where near the desert/dusty environment that a snorkel would benefit from.

let us bow our heads and recite the Poseurs Anonymous affirmation "Going off-road and looking off-road are two different things. That's okay and so am I".

Since tires are the only connection you have to the road, grip is a thing.

Forget the looks to impress the boys, they'll know you're a faker with the 2wd stuff anyway.

Dare to be different and get tires that support what you do 99% of the time, which is pavement, both dry, wet and standing water there in LA

    Michelin Defenders.

I think the majority of guys buy aggressive tires for the looks. Most seldom if ever go off road or anywhere where they actually need those tires.
Asking for tire suggestions generally doesn’t yield much useful information. Most suggestions are based purely on - This is what I have, therefore it’s the best and you should get it. Nothing else just basically get this tire cause this is what I have. There is generally no useful information such as , it handles good in snow, great in mud, or it’s lousy in the rain it hydroplanes or it makes a loud road noise etc etc. so in the OP’s case I suggest you just search on line for a tire you like the looks of, then read the reviews. If it looks good to you and you like the reviews then get a set. Or go to a big tire store tell them what you want and your price point and consider their suggestions.

Poseur AT tires are the "low profile" ones like this that have "AT" tread pattern for looks.

    -Looks like crap
-Crap for off-road use/low shock absorption
    -Bought by crap owners

I just put General Grabber AT/X SL load on my 4Runner. It will definitely see some light trails, but they are pretty comfortable on pavement. The do come in C and E load depending on the size.
