What should I ask for my '06 V6 4WD 295K Blown HG or Cracked Head?

I'm not sure what happened to this thread when I posted it yesterday. I got 3 replies, then the thread disappeared, so here it is again:

Well, it seems that the head gasket is blown or the head is cracked. Started out overheating when the Coolant Temp Sensor went bad and apparently I didn't catch it soon enough, or the head gasket and/or head just decided to go bad at 295K miles. The truck doesn't owe me anything, but I just can't justify throwing a bunch of $$ at it with almost 300K miles. Sooo, I guess i will put it on CL and/or Marketplace.

My question is this: what should I ask for it? She drives, but burps air into the radiator expansion chamber and ultimately blows its cap open. Truck has been as reliable as any vehicle I've driven, and I have been diligent about replacing parts as necessary (brakes, CV joints, etc). I don't want to mislead potential buyers, so I will disclose the HG or head problem. I am in Loveland, CO, and it is still driveable, so I can get it to just about anywhere in the Front Range of Colorado.

Honestly though, no idea. Depends on the condition of the rest of the truck. Put up a price and then start reducing it every week until you get some tire kickers circling around like vultures and then you'll know what it's worth to everyone else.

5k at best because it’s now a project truck and that’s only if the body, interior and under carriage are clean and rust free.

Those pictures don't show much of anything.
Pictures of the frame, interior, under hood, suspension, etc. Is what's needed.

At around 300k and some kind of head issue, whoever buys it will likely need to do a lot of engine refreshing. It's probably a $7500 truck if it worked perfectly and was in good cosmetic shape. I would try $5k and go from there. Has the issue you're talking about been officially diagnosed or are you just assuming based on symptoms? just curious

So as a guy whos purchased lots of cars from lots of people, id strip any business logos from that thing, in my experience most work trucks are absolutely abused way more often then taken care of. and I know there are lots of people like me who buy cars and put work and time into them and get them back on the road. can these trucks do well over the mileage on yours yes they can. the amount of time and effort might also play into that as well. i see its a CO truck, they salt there don't they? that would also take into account. the interior and other amenities will or might help you sell the thing. i mean, id hit you way low, from the external at this point. but like others have said $4000 OBO, and see where things end up.

Based on the radiator, ECT sensor, and thermostat replacement, and it still burping coolant out, I am pretty sure, but I have one more appointment to have an official diagnostic to be performed. It seems the fan clutch is good also. It holds water until you put even a slight load on it, then it starts burping air and fluid out the overflow again.

well, seeing what I'm seeing here id be all in at 2k max, looks like the interior needs an overhaul., the exhaust would need to be replaced, and the frame looks like its god some rust starting. but again your market might be different.

but again see my comment above about how often work trucks arent usually well taken care of the same as a standard daily.

$2500. With that interior it just became a bigger project truck.

$2,000 max. A lot of money to fix that truck up,and it looks well worn.
