I’m needing a new key for my 2015 Tacoma. I know they’re not cheap. Where can I buy keys ( other than Toyota who wants too much)? And what is required if I buy keys elsewhere? like programming or cutting?
my fob/key is a one piece u it with the red buttons. I’m assuming it is chipped?

2015 should be a separate key and fob unless someone changed it.

If it's a V6 it is for sure chipped.

A locksmith should be able to cut and program a new key cheaper than the dealer.

Thank you. Having a separate piece will make it cheaper for me. Always good news.

I bought my spare key from eBay years ago (around 2010). Had it cut by locksmith, programmed at stealership (locksmith didn’t have the tech then). Then found the original spare duct taped to radiator base after owning the truck for 10 years.

I got a couple keys from eBay and the dealer cut them based on my vin, I think it only cost like $10 to have them cut and the parts guy must have felt bad thinking they wouldn’t program so only charged me for one, then I went home and downloaded the sketchiest copy of techstream I could find and coded them to the truck, there’s a cable somewhere on Amazon you’ll need and it usually comes with a tech stream cd
