Purchased recently. Driven several hundred miles. Can’t pass inspection bc monitor two is incomplete and monitor four is N/A. Tried a couple different drive cycles. Truck runs fine. My new inspector’s computer says I have a CEL but the CEL isn’t lit. CEL doesn’t light when ignition is turned on. Saw a post from 2021 with similar issue but they never posted a solution. Think someone pulled the CEL? Could the bulb cause it not to pass?

I’d love some help so I can get this truck registered and able to drive legally.

First need to know what engine you have, also which monitors haven't ran.

The 4 that are N/A your truck isn't equipped with.

It's possible the PO disabled the CEL by removing the bulb or snipping the wire.

Here’s an update. The CEL bulb was burnt out. Replaced bad bulb and now it lights up when key turned on and goes off after car is started. I’m happy about that. Wonder if the burnt out CEL will cause a CEL code on the inspector’s computer? Kinda makes sense. still a mystery on monitor inc 2

I was able to get my catalyst monitor to finally set by putting a can of Cataclean in the tank and driving in 4lo for a few miles. Prior to that I had driven hundreds/thousand miles and did the FSM procedure to no avail.

It shouldn't as there is no monitor/code for the CEL bulb in 1st gens.

Kinda need to know which monitors haven't completed to know what drive cycle we beed to try to run.
