What box has all of the wires in it?

In older houses, electricians would put a lot of wires in light boxes, because the outlet and switch boxes were small.

It's kind of the opposite now, where multi gang switch boxes can have multiple feeds in and out, travelers for 3-way and 4-way switches, and the switch legs themselves.

It's hard for me to make out what's really going on there, party because your handwriting is almost as bad as mine. :D

The black should be the common, or ground.

It's counterintuitive if you're accustomed to 120V wiring, where the white is the neutral.

I quoted him too so he should get the notification. Just thought you might be curious too so you wouldn't have to rely on that tube bender

Gentlemen, first successful solder of one of my fender flare holes. You could say I'm a pro body guy now.

    20240413_171748.jpg

(Yes, it needs to be ground and prepped for paint)

    Edit: much better.

That looks pretty good! Do you put something on the back side when soldering or how does that work?

For small holes, it's not needed - just creating a concave surface and tinning the sheet metal first (i.e. heating it). The smaller ones are about 1/4 inch in diameter. Anything larger requires a patch, which can be soldered onto the body, then filled. I don't have easy access to the back side for a lot of these.

Learning as I go, but it seems simple enough.

Luckily for you that link I posted has lots of pretty pictures and comes with a new black hole for you to throw money at. I think I might even know someone that can weld those mods together for you

They were all in the light boxes.
I got most of it squared away.
Side lights are on 1st switch. Center on Center. Right is open for adding more.

The lights are running on half the amount of lamps right now and need to update the center to 6500K.

Might need a wifi extender to get the switches to connect out here.

TP Link KASA switches? I put a bunch in our new place along with occupancy sensors and Home Assistant running on my server doing control of the lighting. Turning into another expensive hobby :anonymous:

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Old school bodywork there! The old masters did it that way before the days of body filler. A guy I once met that did it, said once you get it, it isn't too bad.

    TP Link, yep.
Always kept one in the cart so I'd get notified of price drops and buy a couple here and there.
The majority of the home is on them now.
Teamed with Alexa it's made this household extremely lazy.
I've seen my son ask Alexa to turn off the living room, as he's standing next to the switch. :anonymous: :blahblah:
