This setup is not designed to work with SAS in any way.

If that's the case, why keep dumping money into the IFS? I'd say, either go long travel, or SAS, and don't waste money on stuff you're going to junk eventually. :notsure:

I say long travel with portal hubs, but only because it's not my money. :D

At this point the cart is WAY in front of the horse. When I wear out the 35's I want 37's. When I get 37's I am going to need a steering up grade. This kit that @906taco is describing is still in development and probably won't be ready for the initial tear off for the front bumper next year; however, by the time the tires are done it might be. This is a long game. Truck only has 100k, and I don't expect to need tires for at least 40k, engine 200k+ and SAS in there somewhere... Dreams. Money will come once the young ones finish college-timing wise about the mileage that these bigger things will "need" to happen. In the end who knows. Something bigger and better might come along and make all of this unnecessary. Reality? Wife will have a say as well... Build for the now and do it all over again in the future. Keeps the skills sharp!

yup it gets expensive in a hurry. Especially when you start with WiFi connected everything and then switch it all out for matter which is way better

Meh, the Matter protocol is still in Bata with Home Assistant. And I have enough protocols with the Kasa, Zigbee, and Wave. Bigger rabbit hole than Taco parts.

A buddy of mine bought a bunch of 6500k lights because he said that was a the brightest they make. I then had to explain to him the difference between temperature and lumens lol

all the ones I have inside are full RGB and adjust temperature based on the time of the day

We use 5000k at work because color matching is #1 priority.
You'll get truest color replication with 5k and up. Which is why I put them in my garage.
Although no light can 100% match the gammet of colors emitted by the sun, they can get pretty close.

Looking at late summer early fall of this year assuming all checks good, as it should.

Just being straight, but expect a price of 10-12k.

Considering matter is backed by Amazon, google, Samsung and Apple it’ll be around for a while.

the problem with home automation from the start was you had to pick an ecosystem and hope it had everything. Now that there’s a standard, you have a lot more devices to choose from and can use your control plane of choice.

Nature of the beast my friend. Nearing 7k just in parts and materials. (Everything is 4130 and TIG welded). Steering box alone is 2k of that.

That thing is a serious conversion. It also seems like a one and done type thing too. If I am not mistaken a Tundra conversion is most of 4k; but, a much easier conversion to do (not easy, just more doable...)
