Picked up a 99 Tacoma 4x4 with a 2.7 Thursday last week. Had posted in the Gen1 forum for some help with running down a fuel issue. Got it resolved and on the road yesterday. I'm surprised at how well it drives after sitting for so long.

I have the bed off at the moment. Anything I should knock out while I have it off. I plan to put it back on this weekend so I can get it inspected. Other things I plan for the weekend are brake pads, rear brake drum rebuild, and replace power steering pump.

It's run 340k miles plus or minus a couple hundred. I got a temp plate for it, but decided to go through the whole things to make sure it's road worth before I bother plating it. After sitting for 10 years it fires up and runs, but it's rough.
Ran into an issue with the left marker light. I bought replacement passenger marker light and the little peice you push the lower peg into, it's missing. I don't know what to search for to find it.

I'm pulling the radiator so I can get better access to the front of the block. The power steering pump has dies and only cries the entire time I drive it. I have a new one ready to go in. Figure while i'm at it I can do everything else that is up there. Belts, alternator, fuel filter (worst location ever), thermostat, and pop the valve cover and look it over. Sounds like the valves need to be adjusted, but don't know enough about the engine yet to know if that's needed. I have new plugs waiting. I plan to order updated coils and wires.

After I get through the entire engine bay I'll do all the fluids in the diffs and transmission. Will keep working out from there. If there's something worth digging into while I have easy access to the block, let me know. Maybe a water pump? No clue on this engine but I"ll learn.
