2017 MGM Tacoma TRD Offroad

Has anyone run power outside the contour canopy? The Alu-cab R-3 and The Bush Company ax27 tents have power plug-ins on the bottom of them. I'm wondering if there is a way to run a quick connect outside of the contour that looks clean.
