After the front end damage was fixed, I’m sure an alignment was done. Double check the lower control arm bolts, and double check the 3 bolts at the top of the shock tower. My truck makes the same creaky/pop noise. I cranked down on everything and at least 1/2 the bolts tightened a bit. Still have the noise, but no where near as bad. May help, may not… but worth a shot and 15 minutes.

I should've done some chores here on the property today. But when you live on the trails and the weather is this nice you get easily sidetracked from chores.

 

Hell yea!! And it looks like someone’s been doing some wrenching as well… new bars, tag mount delete, billet gas cap, a Yoshi can and I believe I see an extended billet rear brake pedal and foot pegs? I bet she’s got a nice little thump with that pipe. Is that injected or carbureted? Have to re-map or re-jet?

 

It's carbed, basically the same XR650 from 1993. Simple & reliable, air cooled with no computer or sensors. I haven't "uncorked" it yet but I have the jet kit & Uni air filter sitting here. My size 15 foot required a longer brake pedal with a larger pad & wider IMS foot pegs. Gas cap is stock but a larger gas tank is in the near future. This bike is a blast! Ton of torque.

 

No front end damage, hit in the rear, but required new frame, etc. The front end was removed intact, for the most part, and rolled aside to replace frame. Thanks for the info

 

That’s a lot of work that was done. I’d suggest what @Taco1004 recommended for starters and see how it goes. There is a good thread somewhere with torque values or you can just try giving them all a nice good-n-tight effort.

Good afternoon MD. I haven't been on in a minute. I just got back from W.Va. on Sunday evening. Before I left I ordered a set of seat jackers from @mrproduxn and they arrived Wednesday night before I was leaving for W.Va. on Thursday morning. I installed them and went to bed. Thursday morning I made the 3 hour trip without stopping. My back and thighs felt great. No pain or squirming around trying to get comfortable. I know this topic has been discussed and there are opinions concerning which seat jackers are best so I can only offer my opinion on these in particular. 100% recommend them.
