So I’m having this problem with my 2005 tacoma where I’m driving in 2wd and when i past a certain RPM, my 4wd light starts blinking for no reason. So I pulled over and turned the truck off and back on, then the 4wd light is off.

So this issue only occurs past a certain RPM and not any other time?

    Can you duplicate it consistently?

Anything else quit working at the same time like the cruise or does the CEL come on?

Correct and yes I can duplicate it consistently.

everything else seems to be fine. The trucks ride is well. It recently just started occurring I’m thinking 4x4 actuator or the 4x4 ecu?

I really don't think it's an actuator or ECU problem being it's RPM related, I'm thinking maybe poor ground that is getting stressed with high RPM because the 4wd limit switches ground at the same ground point as the ignition coils.

I'd be curious what the limit switch voltages are doing when the problem occurs.
You can check them at the 4wd ECU, see the thread below.
