Looking for input. I’ve recently come across a fairly unadvertised 04 ext cab sr5 TRD Off-road auto 4x4 with less than 65k miles. Somewhat one owner truck, belonged to the dad since he bought it brand new, son inherited it, he travels for work on a company vehicle and doesn’t want the truck sitting. I haven’t seen it in person yet, but from what I’ve been told from the person who told me about it, and videos the seller has sent me, it has been very well taken care of and completely unmolested. He said he’s looking to get around $20k for it.

I’m looking for input/advice on if that seems like a good price/ or what would be for everyone involved. I’ve seen trucks on this forum with a lot more miles than that go in the 15k range, and some on BAT that I would put in this truck’s category go anywhere from $22-30k.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and any advice you can offer.

Some will say that's too high, but if it's really ends up being as clean as you think it is, I'd say its reasonable.

That being said, I'd really do your homework (via review Carfax, maintenance records and a thorough inspection). If this truck has sat for prolonged periods of time, you could easily need $3-5k in repairs addressing leaks, cracked rubber bushings, old tires, timing belt, etc. [These types of things can all be used to negotiate the price down].

Unless you're very familiar with this platform of truck, I'd suggest getting a pre-purchase inspection.

***And rusty undercarriage needs to be ruled out entirely for that price***

Thanks for the reply. From everything I’ve seen, the frame definitely looks clean but won’t know will definitely have a better idea when I see it in person. Upon further conversations with the guy, turns out the original owner had two of these trucks. One of which he drove daily and used as his work truck around the house, and then this one, which mainly sat in the garage. It was his weekend cruiser.
