Well I'm glad that it's not just me who sees it. I wonder why that is, probably because as kids boys play with Legos, dig holes in sandboxes and whatever but those aren't "girl" activities for them growing up?
Worked out for me in the end :cookiemonster:

Local guy is getting rid of a swb 1st gen Montero. Running, no rust, cheap. Having trouble not going over. Love those little weirdos. Parts have become a bitch apparently. Friend has one. But shit, for a couple grand to clean up and run for a summer/fall...

Yeah I'm doing ok. The dust settled and life's been good. The being alone all the time part has it's highs and lows. This week's been tough for some reason, not that I miss her, that's not it, but just being alone that kinda kills me. The cat situation has been a good distraction to be honest.

This is the final labor quote I got. Seems like a sweet deal, so I’m going forward with it.

Why was a locker even mentioned?

I was wondering what it would be to replace the diff bearings as “PM” and then WYIT, might as well add a locker. I think I’ll leave that for down the road though. It’s easy to get sucked into WYITitis with this stuff. Maybe I can get a crushable washer for the pinion nut or something.

I'll rephrase that; why would you bother asking if you're gonna sell your truck, can't afford maintenance, hate the unreliable POS, etc

But hey, the deposit on that driveshaft is a step forward.

When does that finally get replaced?

I'm assuming (could be wrong) you've decided to keep it around for good or at least for the foreseeable future, so all of that being done and dusted will give you peace of mind and that's worth stroking a check for.
$85 an hour isn't terrible either, most shops here are over $100 now.
Locker quote makes sense, but unless you needs it, I'd skip for now, unless you just want it all knocked out in one go.

They should have it ready by Monday or Tuesday. I guess that money for the locker would be better spent fixing the oil leaks.

I just wanted to replace the overly stiff ones I had on there. The leafs are ok, but they’re pretty much flat by now and squat with even a small load .
