Tailgate Rebuild

Greetings All,

Some of you may be aware that I was rear ended hard last December. As a result my tailgate is now crinkly wrinkly.

I picked up a brand new replacement shell (no guts) to replace my tailgate. I will be transferring over the guts (latching mechanism, hinge, etc.) from my old tailgate to the new one.

It looks like a fairly straight forward process. I would like to know if there is a particular sequence I should use or any tips on making the transfer easier. Obviously the two plastic covers come off first.

If there is a link somewhere I couldn't find that shows this process let me know.

It's actually a pretty simple process.

Although I did have to replace all the plastic screw grommets and other such plastic clips and fittings.

But I expected that.
