This camper shells seems to be a good alternative

idk man, that's soft topper or used shell prices. not really worth the risk and the time sink into it.

 

Save your money and buy a quality camper shell that you won't get sick of looking at in 3 or 4 months. That thing is butt ugly....IMHO.

 

Wait until you see their skid plate.

 

Just remember when dealing with Chinese knock offs straight out of Wuhan and Shenzhen bullshit, a lot of the customer reviews are going to obviously be fake. This goes for all the sites like Alibaba, Great Wall, and even Amazon.

If it sounds something like “number one seller. Product better than expected. Fast shipping. I am most pleased. Highest quality…” Then it’s probably one of their shills positively review bombing it.

You are also well within the price range of a used shell, and probably with enough money left over to rebuild seals and struts.

Chinese know the knockoff stuff they make is shit. They think that the proper way to convince people in the west to buy it is with fake, glowing reviews.

 

I have a version of that on the way right now. I got one without the side windows. Another member on here has one and honestly it looks great in the photos he shared. Mine was $1380 shipped.

 

I would be interested at this price. Is the RSI three times better than this one?? It’s price says it is..

 

Let's say you invented something. Let's say it costs you X to produce with quality materials, and you pay your people well to help you produce them.

Now that you've invested your time and money to get your product to market and get yourself established, some POS sees that you've got a market and decides to copy your product. This POS uses inferior materials and only pays it's employees barely enough to live on. They can undercut your price because of the above, and they have no time or money invested in figuring out how to make the product work. Is that right? Yes, it's a free market for others to buy your competitor's inferior product and stolen ideas. Doesn't make it right.

The RCI is way more expensive, yes. Part of what you're paying for is the initial idea and the cost of paying talented employees what they're worth. I'm all for saving a buck, but not like that.

Personally, I can't justify spending that much for the RCI, when a fiberglass cap will do 90% of what theirs does for less. Without stealing their intellectual property.

Just another way of looking at the situation... /rant.

 

That’s more than I paid for my 2021 ARE used. Deals are out there, just keep looking. You do you though. Don’t let a bunch of weirdos from the internet tell you what to do with your money lol

 

Getting a used camper shell for that price seems hard to come by with the same color of my truck. I’ve only seen one for about $1,800. There’s another one that is high rise for $3,000.

I do not want a soft top, I don’t feel my belongings secure in a soft top.
