Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

He won't have it long enough for it to develop problems. It's a situational win here.

Your new shocks have me looking back at OME for front coilovers. (I have Nitrochargers 'medium' on the back)

I'm a little behind but it appears they're doing away with the sport coilovers (800 springs) and going to the Nitrocharger Plus.(4000springs)

Found some Nitrocharger Plus for $729/pair.
    Resisting :spending:

    I hear that.
Trying to determine whether stepping up to that next price level (for any brand) is worth my use case.

Could save $ on a lower level shock and put that $ toward skid plates. :blahblah:

    I have time to ponder.

Stop that rational thinking and get both! :p joking aside skid plates are definitely important, especially the front skid that covers the oil pan

    So. Many. Stickers.
I will say that, even with a bumper and a winch, I find the OME "heavy" set up to be a bit stiff.

    Then again

When I'm off road.... It is absolutely stellar.

And now that I think about it, the stiffness probably helps with my sway bar less driving

    Haha, yup!

The MT64's aren't bad at $1200 with new springs and top hat kits.
    From what I've found.
    Only setback is, *assembly required

Assembly takes about an hour. I have a heavy duty spring compressor if you need, or there is a YouTube video that shows how to do it without a spring compressor.

Is the video part of the “Darwin Award” series?

It looks to be quite safe, actually. Dan and Jason both changed springs this way, IIRC.

Is that referring to compressing them ON the vehicle, like I've been reading about?
    Sounds sketchy, if so.

True, but Dan is an extremely experienced machinist and Jason is a former military brute, all he needs to do is give it a stern look and it obediently falls into place.
