Hello my brothers and sisters of Tacoma world.Disregard the tire pressure sensor light I am aware of replacing the sensors cause they are old and not working. My question is why is my check engine light on and traction off light on and when I drive up to 40 miles per hour it feels so slow like something took its speed away and when I disconnect the battery and plug it back in it runs like normal again. I checked all connections thinking it could be an air line and nothing. Could someone please explain why this is happening to my Tacoma

Have to scan it for codes and go from there but sounds like limp mode. Hit an autozone or the like and get it scanned. Report back and someone can surely help.

    Definitely sounds limp mode.

Scan for the code and go from there. :)

My money is on a knock sensor tripped. Happened to me once some 50k miles ago. Reset. Delete. No issues since. Your results may vary

You are in Fail Safe mode AKA- "Limp Mode"

Scan for codes. Report back and we can better help you then.

Mine did this when a mouse chewed through my wiring harness. It’s happened twice in the last 4 years!
