My Tacoma has been delayed by a couple of days, giving me extra time to think about stuff. I cruised the Suspension forum and didn't see my question offhand, so I figured I would ask here. I am hoping to get a stiffer ride and have more stability hauling.

My truck is a 2015 and probably has never had the leaf springs replaced, I think I may want to do that sooner rather than later.
I would definitely like a heavier duty ride for hauling but don't really want or need a lift. Most of my hauling will be 250-400 kilos for short duration, maybe a dozen miles or so, but some may be over some pretty uneven terrain; think heavy construction site. Not the whole trip, just the beginning or end.
I figured I would just replace all four shocks while I'm at it (from what I've seen, the ones currently installed are original), and the leaf springs. I'm going to order Bilstein 5100s all around, but for leaf springs, does anyone offer a heavy duty leaf spring without lifting the rear, or is an AAL the only option.
I just really don't want to mess with any other systems or screw up the engineering of the truck. I'm a simple dude; I like reliable, understated, and overengineered.
    Any suggestions, TacomaWorld?

    if you want lift
5100 does that. Mine were not comfortable. Next up in line if you are looking at price and Bilstein is 6112. They are almost twice as thick and why it dampens better. Has clips to set height.

rear the cheapest is some kind of AAL but that’s probably not as good as a leafpack.
My RXT used was cheap, lifts, carries, and rides better than my single old AAL.

if you don’t do something you like the first time
Cool. You develop the ability to work on it blindfolded.

I’ve probably had my suspension and transmission out 3 times at this point.
I bet you I could work on my suspension literally blindfolded. Maybe you don’t want to go through the time it takes to do that.
Or the money you lose trying to sell a barely used part because you don’t like it
    “Is this still available”

4600 is a bit thicker than stock. Stock is a fake pretend 4600. It will not lift. But it’s still not the thickest or most comfortable. Used to have it.

you could also look at something like airbags. Even with RXT I’d still probably benefit from airbags for hauling and towing.

I would recommend you drive it a few weeks first, but that's just me.
It's like buying accessories for your AR, before you shoot it.... lol.

    yeah.

were my shocks shot on 08? Absolutely. I couldn’t curve 30-45mph with traffic without the rear trying to drift. Not the same as drifting on purpose. But it was older.
They do come pencil thin though. And were easy to push by hand.

OP you can also find people and ask about a passenger ride in their truck to see what their suspension is like.
For example if you find something with 6112/5160.

if that’s what I wanted to do, and didn’t find anyone. I’d go to a dealership and buy some donuts for sales and ask hey can we or I take that TRD Pro 4runner with 6112/5160 around the block I just want to try the suspension.
Never had that not work. Nothings free why not help their morning go with the coffee do a nice gesture.

you will probably go oh shit. That’s what happened when I helped a buddy put that suspension on his regular 4runner and rode/drove it. My 5100 could not keep up with him and felt like crap in comparison on and off road.

I'm not going to do the shocks and springs right off the bat, definitely going to give it a month or so, put it through its paces, etc.
Best AR is naked AR. Nothing to fail, nothing to loosen; simple platform for sending freedom seeds without fail, every time. Except maybe AK, but either way, you get it.
