The Problem: I pulled the entire dash to get access to AC unit and put everything back together but it wouldn't start. There was power to the instrument cluster but the truck wouldn't even crank, just a steady Check Engine Light.

The Cause: After a bit of reading, I decided it was the truck's built in security feature that had shut it down.

The remedy: touch the positive and negative battery cables together WHILE DISCONNECTED from the battery. After doing this, it starts right up.

I'm guessing it's because I had tampered with the ignition wire harness?

Just posting this to share my little experience and hopefully save someone the trouble in the future.

Can I delete this thread? It was only coincidental that the truck started after doing the battery trick. The issue would repeat itself intermittently. I found out that the clutch pedal wasn't being sensed in the down position due to me having installed new, slightly thicker carpet. Anytime the truck wont start, if I really step on it, it'll immediately turn over.

If it were mine I would bypass that idiot switch on the clutch pedal and call it a day.
