    Good day,
    I just purchased a 2014 TRD 4x4 sport crewcab. 98,000 miles.
I actually held out for an older model to get the 4.0
This is my 4th toyota, first was a 69 LC second was an 84 4x4 short bed
The third was a 96 4x2. I must admit I'm liking the 2014 I've only had it for 8 days.
I have a friend who has a 3rd gen trd pro that has all the off road stuff about 10k in add on's who is telling me not to mess with the tire sizes and suspension. He's a good guy has no reason to steer me wrong.
The only thing I want to do is level it out ( front 1.5 inch lift )
Will that little of a lift really damage drive components?? And feed back would be great.
I installed seat covers, and side steps yesterday.

I dont think the lift is gonna effect the truck that much. I say go ahead with it, install it yourself or get someone to do it. They should notify you if is should cause any interference

Great looking truck  welcome :hattip:I too decided to redo my interior - mainly because I got sick and damn tired of having to clean the cloth seats every 4 weeks.

Nice looking truck. Re: lift: Drive it around for a few thousand miles, then decide. That's real low mileage to start with the modifications. (IMO) Verify if it has had the rear spring TSB and four-leafs. My bone stock 2014 (16" rims and tires) has it and it sits just slightly high in the back. When the bed is empty, the lower spring is not even loaded. Five seventy-pound sand bags in the back just about levels it off, but still does not load the bottom leaf.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld.

the slight lift shouldn't damage the drive components
it may damage the driver side CV axle needle bearing tho
this is a known weak point and ECGS makes a replacement/upgraded part
the symptoms are a grinding noise coming from under the drivers side floor board, this noise should go away when 4wd is engaged
there will also be excess play in the CV axle

Thanks - much appreciated  I got clear lenses to replace the red ones on the door handles and LEDs. I also ordered Tan door handles today to cap it all off.
