Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself and my situation. I recently got my first vehicle ever and I'm pretty excited. I saved up money expecting to buy a newer sedan or something, but came across a 2002 Silver Tacoma Pre runner. My dad had always had Tacomas growing up so I’ve gotten an earfull on how long they run. The interior looks amazing, only had 1 previous owner and he put 120k miles on it. It drives great, gas consumption is great, and I love being able to take my tools around while not being in an enormous truck. I switched off the old headlights cause they were wayy too foggy for night driving and I definitely gotta change the breaks soon cause it wobbles from side to side whenever I come to a stop. After that I wanna give it a new paint job. No huge rust spots that really concern me either, but it does have a decent amount of sun damage. This is my first car so I am pretty new to all of this, you guys will be sure to see me posting pretty often. Im excited for the journey of making this beauty look brand new.

    Welcome aboard!

When it comes to modding/upgrading older vehicles, safety should always be the first priority. Glad to hear you swapped the headlights…the originals look pretty cloudy. You should definitely get the brakes checked soon. You may need new rotors as well as pads.

As far as the paint, you should consider getting it wrapped instead. A wrap is cheaper than a high quality paint job. And if you want a different color later, all you do is peel it off. No need to sandblast/prep to repaint.

the bad thing about vinyl wrap is for older cars on chipped and damaged paint it will show very very easily. so you would still need to fix dents, scratches, chips, or peeling clear coat
