Doing some sound proofing on the floor, current plan is to put a base of Siless 80mil with about 50% coverage, and then try to fully cover it with the Siless 200mil. Couple questions,

Do i need to remove the factory sound deadening material (The blue stuff on the floor i think),

And do i really need to cover 100% of the final layer with the 200mil stuff or is 95% good enough? The final 5% would just take an eon and a half of removing every single little clip.02IVh42A.jpg

I did this. Noico 80 mil, and then foam on top. Almost 100% coverage.

100% the 80mil coverage as well? Did you remove the sticky blue stuff on the bottom as well?

I dont know much about the science behind it, but I feel like a vibration dampening material would work better on the metal itself?

I only did the inner doors and back cab wall with Second Skin Damplifier pro 2mm on my 3rd gen. I think it's plenty.

If the stuff you have will adhere on top of that factory membrane I don't see the point of trying to peel it up.

You're going to have carpet on top of it all anyway.

I found that sound dampener helped a bit but ultimately I could hear quite a bit through the window.

I might try putting a strip of butyl deadening on the bottom of the window to see if it helps at all.

No, I left the factory stuff. It does its job and it's more hassle than it's worth to remove, and its factory "sealed". I covered as much as I could with Noico 80 mil, and then full coverage with the foam layer. I only kept away from some edges where I didn't want it to be too thick, and interfering with trim pieces going back on like they should. Sorry I don't have any pics of the foam layer, but once I had the interior out, I went all in.

I copied the Jesse Rizo method on YouTube.

I still want to pull the headliner and do the roof... maybe one day.
