    Hi guys,

I'm new to the taco world. I have some questions about wheel and suspension setup. I'm thinking about running 17x8.5 -10 SCS FA16s. Can I run these wheels with no lift? What tire size do i get? Do I need to do a cmc? These are just some questions I have. Any input will be appreciated greatly!20231008_190447.jpg

    Ok I'll bite.

Simply... 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 tires will fit without rubbing. You might rub with mudflaps and you may need to minorly trim/mold plastics.

With an offset closer to 0, you could possibly run 255/85/16 or 255/80/17, without rubbing.

Anything beyond those sizes will likely require a CMC or CMR.

Ultimately, there are no guarantees. Alignment plays a huge factor, and body to frame alignment is also an unknown variable.

What works on one truck is not guaranteed to work on the next.

Also, above all, remember that lift foes not equal bigger tires with IFS. When the suspension compresses, the lift is gone.

I have the same size and offset with 265/70/17's on my 2022 and at stock height they will absolutely rub if you're turning the wheel and flexing the suspension at all. Mine would hit if turning onto a side road while braking moderately and would run turning into a driveway or parking lot that involved crossing a sidewalk. I did a 2" lift and haven't had the problem any more but I'm sure if wheeling a little hard and using zone articulation I'd end up rubbing anyway. It would rub the rear portion of the wheel well and/or the bottom of the front bumper. Never had it hit the cab mount though.

Ok good to know. So all you did was a 2inch lift but no cmc? I'm not looking to go crazy with offroading just moderate terrain and fire trails

No cmc here. I haven't done more than logging and fire roads yet.
