More than with 700# that I don't need? Or just lose the inch? It would be 600# that are 1" shorter

Depends on your setup. 14” 700# rides best with a bumper. 13” 600-700# stock

No reason to go with a 13” coil (that length is harder to find anyways). A 700lb spring is still 700lbs with the weight of the truck sitting on it. It’s more favorable to have a longer spring and 14” is the max that fit on OEM length shocks. Try out the 700s and see how you like it. If it feels like your suspension doesn’t compress over terrain like you want it to, then you could always drop down to 650s later.

stock coils are 13” 700#. I run the 14” 700# with a lo-pro bumper and winch (130-150lbs). Wish I went with 650# even with my aftermarket shocks

Stock coils on stock tophat (screwtop) style shocks? Those are like apples to oranges with 2.5” coilovers. They’re not compatible.

yes, agreed. Depends on what shocks he’s running. The guy was asking about coils and I was making the comparison to show why preloading a 13” coil is no bueno

    I had the option of getting a 13x3 600# fox coil. I've found someone to swap my 14x3 700# eibach with a 13x2.5 650# icon. I currently run 5100s with 886s.

If the only difference between 13" and 14" is not being able to get 3" of lift, I'm probably fine with that.

I bought my truck with an ADS setup (2.5" remote reservoir w/ compression adjusters) on all 4 corners. Is there a way to tell what spring rate is on the front shocks?

It'll be written on one the coils. Or your invoice will have it in the product code

Does anyone have a picture of the collar adjustment tool?

I used this punch... Not doing it here just a mock up. You will need to compress the spring to adjust it

The punch method will work fine, but the correct tool allows for a bit more reach. Here is a picture of Icon's tool:
    https://iconvehicledynamics.com/accessory/11008/icon-accessories-2-pin-coilover-spanner-wrench-kit/
The wrench is called an Adjustable Pin Spanner Wrench
Here is a generic Pin Spanner Wrench:
    https://www.amazon.com/Adj-Pin-Spanner-Wrench-12-1/dp/B002FCJE62
The "pin" is the part that Sideways1 has the punch inserted to in the picture above. For Icon, the diameter of the hole is 3/8 (I only have ADS on the rear so can't verify ADS's pin size). The 4-1/2" to 6-1/4" is the outer diameter of the collar the tool will fit.

And be sure to loosen the bolt clamping down the collar before adjusting and then tighten afterwards.

None of the spanners have enough leverage. I bought a pin punch set from Princess: https://www.tacomaworld.com/posts/27212397/ My Icons use the 3/8". I can give you the 5/16" punch from my set if it works on yours.

3” of lift is like the absolute max. What’s your goal here?

My goal is to get 2-5" of lift with a nice ride. My options as of today are to run as is with 14" 700# coil without a bumper/winch or swap with a friend for a 13" 650# coil.

7/8” of thread showing with a 14” 700# coil nets me 1.5” of lift.

There’s no such thing above 3”(max) lift unless you do a bracket (frame cut) lift, or long travel - - theoretically you could crank them way up beyond 3” I guess, but that would be unrealistic for the purpose

You should break the springs in as is and then decide on adjustment after it’s settled a bit.
