Spark Plugs for 4 Cylinder 2.7 Engine

I asked a question in the spark plug part of this forum, but got no response even tho others posted questions after me. It seems like everything I’ve ever seen about spark plugs in this forum are about the 6 cylinder engines that have two different brands of spark plugs, but does that hold true for 4 cylinder engines also, or are all 4 plugs of the same brand ok. I had a V6 in my older 1993 SR5 but didn’t feel like spending the extra money for the v6 when I bought my 2011 brand new.

Till I read about plugs in this forum, I had never heard of Denso Plugs before and people seem to rave about them. My question is are all 4 plugs supposed to be the same brand or should I use two of one brand and two of another? If all one brand, I’m considering Denso’s.

 

I have a 2015 4 banger- got the Denso Iridium Plugs from RockAuto - all 4 the same. I think the Denso plugs are the OEM supplier - No Complaints, but its not Friday.

 

Toyota was using 2 different spark plug suppliers for the v6 trucks thus them having 2 different plugs from the factory, 4 cyl trucks only came with Denso plugs.

Denso SK20HR11 should be the correct plugs for the 2.7L 2TR-FE

 

I just replaced the plugs on my 2.7. They were the original plugs, and all 4 were denso iridiums. I installed new denso iridiums right back in their place.

 

Thank you for the replies. 4 Denso Iridiums it will be. I have about 56k miles on the original plugs. It’s probably time. Runs a little rough at idle.

I prefer NGK, but that's just me.

 

OEM plugs bro. Did the 11’s come with iridium?

 

If it's running rough at 56k miles, I doubt new plugs will help. They're supposed to be good for 100k miles. Not trying to discourage you from changing them, it's a relatively cheap and easy swap and peace of mind.

With the rough idle - try cleaning the MAF sensor and PVC valve. Both easy & cheap.

 

I've done both the denso at 100k and ngk at 200k.

Both sets were great, wore evenly and I have no complaints.

 

I have no idea. Does anyone know?

 

I read somewhere recently that rough idling was caused by plugs and they have about 56k miles on them. I’m not a mechanic, so my knowledge is limited.

 

Might try that. I saw a thread the other day that had everything under the hood labeled if I can find that thread again.

 

Denso! But @ 56K, they SHOULDN'T be the problem (but it's not like it never happens). Are there codes? What is "runs a little rough at idle?"

 

If they were Amazon Denso’s then they could be bad at 56k
