Have you decided if your going to get the Raptor or not or still waiting to drive one. I think I would order the green as well.

The fact is they get away with a lot of things no other car company could because a large number of their customers are complete morons. Their customers pay to beta test all their products for them. Working FSD according to Elon should have been here years ago, its still vaporware. Add that to the ever growing list of false promises made by the brand. The cyber truck has been a complete flop, it failed to do almost everything that was promised, now they recalling all 4,000 made. Their entire lineup is getting old and they have made no reasonable improvement in QC. The competition has caught up. Instead of investing money into QC, revitalizing their aging lineup, or expanding their service center network they are busy trying to get Elon a 56 billion dollar pay package. It's good to see their stock price finally reflecting reality. Rant over.

Now you know as well as I do whenever you get third parties involved nothings ever going to be 100%, ever, but their track record speaks for itself. Bottom line!

RR combined MPG with required 91 octane @ $4.75/gal vs TH/Pro with 87 octane @ $4.00/gal. RR is $8,300 less but after 6.5 years, you will save that much in fuel costs. After that, the Tacoma is less expensive to own...

For me at least, the thing about the ZR2 and RR, id have to join new forums and meet new internet people and trolls, and really it’s too much of a hassle. I’ll stick with TW, @tcBob has done a great thing with this site and forum.

the 4gtacoma forum layout is terrible…

If you have an order, I would seriously consider holding onto it. I got my Ranger raptor two weeks ago. (Msrp) I’ve had four TRD pros, two Tacoma‘s a 4runner and a Sequoia. I am definitely surprised how good the build quality is. I don’t know maybe it’s because it was designed in Australia, but it has exceeded my expectations. Also time will tell, but in regards to reliability the Raptor 3.O twin turbo has been around since 2016 without significant issues and the current Ranger Raptor has been in different parts of the world since 2022.

I know some say the Tacoma is the "Baby Tundra" but I think the new Tacoma looks better and has a fresher, evolved look. The Ranger Raptor is a "Baby Raptor" but it looks just like this 2017 Raptor. Ford certainly isn't pushing the styling envelope. It just looks dated to me.

Im not living by what’s “listed”. What we paid for the car is what we paid for the car. Plain and simple.

A bonus is that the car payment is equivalent to what I used to spend on fuel each month for the vehicle it replaced. That’s a wash until those savings are completly realized once the car payment goes away. That Tesla will go for 10 years without a doubt. There are plenty on the road that can attest for that.

Hmm, wonder what the + is for? My truck says just 87, no plus.

You said it required 91+ octane. I said it didn’t. I prove you wrong, and now you’re trying to move goalposts

Right, you proved that it wasn't required and I proved it was recommended. Tacoma owner's manual doesn't say you need higher octane to maintain performance when it's hot or you are towing like Ford does. If you are okay with reduced performance, I'm okay with that.

Even with the same fuel, depending on where you live and how many miles you drive, the Tacoma Max will save you $700-800/yr in fuel costs which may not eliminate the price difference but it certainly gets it closer.

This is tiresome, but anyway, the argument wasn’t whether it was recommended. You said it was required. You were wrong, but obviously you’re the type of person that has a trouble being wrong, which I assume happens pretty often. On an aside, my 23 Trd pro Sequoia Hybrid is supposed to get 19 and 22. I have never seen above 16.5 mpg. But don’t take my word for it The Sequoia forum has plenty of complaints of not reaching EPA estimates

Maybe you have a lead foot? What mpg are you getting from the Ranger?

Here’s the way I see it. It’s your fucking money! You earned your money the hard way. You can’t take it with you, so why not enjoy the shit out of it in your golden years?

My next Tacoma may be a solid black Pro. When I saw the pictures of the one at the Texas State Fair, I was thinking hell yea. Still thinking that.
