I've had a few 270 awnings, the only real problem I've had is either the brackets bending or the knuckles on the ends of the poles breaking off so I switched to a regular awning.

Tied it into the lights i have on the roof rack. Spliced in a Waterproof automotive plug to connect when the awning is deployed.

So I noticed my closed awning can hold a lot of water after it rains. The zippers obviously let the water in. My truck sat for two weeks after it rained and when I drove off, a bunch of water poured out where the zippers meet in the middle. I guess my question is, has anyone noticed any issues with mold or has it been ok? I’m going to let mine air out once this next San Diego rain storm passes through.

had the same. I found if I have the awning on the truck and I know it's going to rain I unzip the cover so it doesn't pool. I also try to open it up and let it air out if it's really wet. My awning doesn't live on my truck so less of an issue now. I only put it on when I'm using it.

Just went and checked mine after yesterdays rains and thankfully no water.

Are you sure its the zipper and not a hole somewhere in the cover?

Yeah I don't get water accumulation either. Awning is completely dry even after the rain last night.

Weird. I had noticed it before but just thought it was my GFC topper extrusion tracks holding water. But this time it was obviously coming from inside the awning as everything else was dry outside. No holes in the cover that I can see. I’m sure it will be fine, just mildly annoying.

Instead of leaving the zipper pulls in the center I join them at the lower back corner...an old(er) fart showed me that at a campground...haven’t noticed any since...

Don't have the OVS, but I have Roam's ARC 270 (It's overpriced for the quality IMHO).

    Pros:
Woke up and it had 3 inches of snow on top of one morning when out.
If you have walls, it stays dry under even in absolute downpours.
Shade on driver side and tailgate (RTT covers passenger side)

    Cons:
    Awning bag sucks
    Stake down straps broke
Zippers all snapped off (had to have a seamstress help me get new zippers on)
    HEAVY

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
You put spacers between the Prinsu bars and the awning brackets? I installed mine last night in the other orientation because the crossbars are 1/8" lower than the outer part of the rack and I needed them in that orientation so that the curve in the bracket clears that. But it's a little low for me and just barely contacting the paint in some parts.
