    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Tucker still has Bailey (GSD) and Ziggy (white mutt lol) and Leo (Brennen's dog). So at least he's not alone.

Bailey is handling it OK. She's just acting very quiet, subdued. Seems like she's staring off in to space.

Bailey has been through this before. She was there when Cloe passed. We got Bailey 2 days after Riley passed. But Jasper has been the most constant companion Bailey ever had. She's been around Jasper since she was a little gidget.

We have the burden of knowing and while they may also know in their own way, they just bring that unconditional thing every day no matter their condition. I truly love and appreciate that.

    1000%

That's why I always say it "There is no more beautiful, or noble, creature in God's creation than a family's dog."

Anyone who has camped with me has definitely heard me say that. That quote is me, it doesn't come from somewhere else.

I've always been really interested in Man's relationship with dogs.

There's some really cool discussion in here, to get some initial insight, for those who are curious.

I see your dog likes to take up space in the bed as well!

Been a bit of a rough week for me.
A young jerk in a Mercedes rear-ended my Tacoma. So, I’ve been dealing with his insurance over the phone and scheduling body shop inspections/etc…

So anyways, I had a rough few days, then I walk into my bedroom, and this little joker is in my spot!

Losing Abigail to cancer has just punched me in the gut. I miss her so much. The vet called us back in a week or two after we let Abby go. They gifted us this picture of her with a quote. Of all the Labs I’ve had in my life Abby’s passing absolutely rocked the vet staff. Something about her just made everyone love her. Some days I think about getting another pup. Most days I don’t. I’ve dreamt about her a few times. Happy with no cancer.

    Oh he is cute! Tucker!!
I always get rescue dogs, they are so grateful. My last two were senior dogs, Tucker is my first puppy ever. He came from a shelter in AK, a high kill shelter.
I will say the first six-seven months were tough but he’s been through obedience training and is super smart, so he’s a joy to have as a companion.
He’s amazing in water too…..you should see him in the ocean. Any puddle of water he will have to go and screw around in it…..just like a little kid.
Interestingly, when he swims he doesn’t do the doggie paddle. He does a breast stroke. That’s from the Newfoundland in him.

    Yeah.
Same. We have had at least one dog for the last 30 years. We have 3 now, although Methuselah may be nearing the crossing. Or not, who knows, this guy is ancient. I've cried losing every single one, but you know they are only here for a short time. I can't imagine not having a dog in my life. But I understand that some people need time before moving on to the next best friend.

    Sorry for the losses.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I was at WalMart buying a bag of Purina dog chow for my dog , in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. Why else would I be buying dog chow, RIGHT ??? So on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again, and that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up... in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in in......tensive care, with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and all you do is load your pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Better watch what you ask me and be prepared for my answer. I have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say. Now that you've read it I have to confess I stole this . Perhaps you may steal it to put a smile on someones face.

It was Walmart. People eating purina wouldn’t be out of the question there. I wouldn’t eat it myself or feed it to my dog. Did you know Diamond isn’t much more than purina, but it doesn’t have all the filler that purina does. That means you don’t have to feed your pup as much at each meal. That makes Diamond cheaper in the long run even if it’s a little more per pound at the initial purchase. Dogs don’t digest the fillers, so it goes right through their system resulting in extra dog shit to clean up. I don’t know about you, but I prefer to pay less money a year and pick up as little dog shit as possible. :hattip:

Good thing they did away with "Cycle" dog food - pretty sure that was the name of it. Back when we were poor newlyweds that's all we could afford. Puppies would eat one cup of food and poop out about 6 cups :annoyed: and STINKY. I'll take what they are on now.
