Drove my 24 home from the dealer the first day (long trip.) As I was messing around with the new features. I noticed the audio screen was just too bright. So in my wisdom, I thought I found the dash light dimmer switch (similar to my 2nd gen - adjustable knob.) Didn't work when I messed with the knob. Left it alone. When night time approached, I was on a dark road, turned on the headlight and, dang, the headlight were pointing downwards. Told myself first adjustment - the headlights. Next day pulled out my screwed driver and proceeded to adjust the lights. Then I sat down and read the manual and the switched turned out to be the manual headlight adjustment. Felt like and dumbass. Re-adjusted the lights and all is good. Moral of the story, read the manual. The features on the new Taco and nice!

Adjustable headlights from the dash is one of my favorite features of the 4th gen. On the 3rd gen you twist the trip reset stem to dim the dash lights, how do you dim the lights on the 4th gen? Also, does the HU display dim with the dash lights, or is it a seperate day/night mode like the 3rd gen?

Glad you have a sense of humor for your situation.

    Reserected from the dead.
This is proof that Toyota knows we will be overloading out trucks.

Audio screen display adjustment: go to Setting/Display/Screen. There is a day/night mode for the audio display that changes automatically
Dash display, separate from audio: button next to the headlight adjustment switch

So turning down the dash lights does not affect the headunit, correct?

The dash lights and audio have separate dimmers, for the 12 inch screen. Don't know about the 8 inch...

IMO the 3rd gen LED's are actually brighter than the 4th gen. The LED's on the 4th gen are projectors and have a strange cutoff. It is a more focused light compared to the 3rd gens. Our 2023 Camry has the same style projector LED's.

Now if we're comparing the 3rd gen halogens, yea then the 4th gen far surpasses them.

New Old Guy. These are my first LED headlights and they take some getting use to! First, the headlights on my TRD Sport can be adjusted up and down by a rolling switch down to the left of the steering wheel. On dim, there is this thin line (maybe 75-100' feet out) that you can see everything very well. Beyond that line everything is dark, and I mean HARD TO SEE DARK!! It may not be a stretch to say it's DANGEROUSLY DARK beyond that line! And that's with the headlights directed up as high as they will go. I have never seen such a stark contrast in vehicle lighting before. It may just be a characteristic of LED headlights??
With the brights on you can see a long way down the road!
