Having a random issue when coming to stops in my sons Tacoma. Sometimes while coming to a stop it makes a clunking noise and feels like the truck is trying to stall but it doesn't give any signs of stalling with engine sound or rpms. Clutch is also pressed in while this is happening. Almost feels like the brakes are locking up in the front. I do have the ABS module unplug as its bad and discontinued so I'm looking for one currently. However it has been unplug long before this issue. Any ideas gents?

Could it be my front bushings? I work out of town and its my son truck so hard to look at it being away from home.

It could be quite a few things. You'll really need to investigate further to get answers. If I were you I'd start with putting the front end up on jackstands and physically inspecting the whole front undercarriage. Look for things that look off or have play in them.

Things that come to mind that could make the clunking noise are:

    - lower control arm bushings
    - front diff mount bushings
    - lower ball joints
    - sway bar end links
    - wheel bearings
    - lower shock bolt/bushing

    Good luck
