02 Tacoma worth it?

New to Tacomas and I'm looking to get rid of my current daily driver for something I can buy in cash. 2002 Tacoma Xtracab, automatic, 2.4 liter engine, 150k miles for $6,000. It looked pretty clean from a VIN check as well.

 

That's a steal if it's a clean. For sure take it to a mechanic before giving them any money, specifically need to check the frame - hammer test it. If it's been painted over or anything like that, walk away.

plans for use on the taco? depending on mods wanting to do, pre2005 can be hard to find aftermarket parts for

 

Sounds like a 5-lug as well (street truck) which is good for a daily, but you want to make sure you're informed before purchase.

 

I’d be all over that deal if it’s not rusty underneath
