I'm putting in a new head unit and was wondering if someone could help tell me what wire I need to splice for the parking brake. Thanks!

The model of the radio you are installing would be required information.

If it’s a pioneer or Kenwood or most other models of radio (besides some higher end alpines)

Up at the top of the e-brake pedal, there is a little pin switch

The pin switch is in the green circle. there is a wire coming off the side or top of this pin switch (red circle)

that is the wire you need

I need to tap into the parking brake for other purposes. Is that wire 12v pos or ground?

I am trying to install a new kenwood stereo into my daughter’s 01 Tacoma and no bypass with work. I see two cables coming off parking brake. Maybe I am an idiot, but which is the correct wire (green or white)? I can take picture tomorrow if needed

Which wire did you end up tapping into? The green or white?
