I actually read the entire thread!
There appears to be some conflation of fuel pump issues.

The LOW pressure fuel pump was part of a replacement campaign on some years. I had mine replaced before any problems developed...under warranty.
You'll have to dig to find out more on that. Search is your friend but not so friendly at TW. Search for this via google: 'site:tacomaworld.com "xxx"' where xxx is what you want to find. use just the double quotes.

The fuel smell referenced in one post applies to the HIGH pressure fuel pump under the hood. If there is a fuel smell under the hood or in the cabin on startup, Toyota will remedy. Again search for details. Doesn't appear to be your problem.

Here are some LOW pressure fuel pump experiences on other cars that may be applicable:

I was using a GMC van to go off road for camping. It started to stutter on the hwy but cleared up so I went on.
All was fine for a few days, coming out of the woods (so lucky!), but on the way home, at 65mph on a hwy, it just died.
I pulled bonnet and tested and determined no fuel getting to engine, right on the side of the hwy. Had to get towed to dealer
and they fixed it claiming tank fuel pump failed due to bad gas, filter was clogged and caused strain on the pump. They replaced pump and filter and all is fine 20 yrs later. Still have it. They gave me the filter and pump. Filter sure was clogged and pump dead. I change filter now every few years.

On another vehicle (new edge mercury cougar), I was closer to home and there was no warning. At a stoplight the car just died.
I had it towed to my house and wound up pulling the tank fuel pump, tested, it was dead. I noticed the fuel gauge float
was banging on the top of the fuel tank. Since it is coated foam, it was breaking up and pieces were getting getting into pump's intake sock filter (again a filter) and caused the pump to die. I replaced entire pump/gauge float/filter contraption and it was fine for years until sold as a trade-in when buying tacoma.

Moral of the stories: LOW pressure fuel pump in the tank is susceptible to filter clogging (before or after pump) and burnout. Sometimes a stutter may warn but sometimes not. Could be bad gas or could be other contaminants that were not introduced at the gas station.

What others said of bad gas, or contaminations. Anybody install locking gas caps for their 3rd Gen Tacoma? Never know, if park someplace, somebody @#$! around, pour “stupid crap” in fuel tank.

Update: Got my truck back. Actually, only one port injector was replaced last time (August 2023), but all direct injectors were replaced this time. After being in the shop and parts replaced twice within the first year of ownership, I’m not enjoying complete trust in my truck now - but, all I can do is hope there are no more issues.

    None yet, here to learn
I posted a new thread for this question before I found this thread - does anyone happen to know the part number for the low-pressure fuel pump covered under recall 20TA02? Dealer is telling me part is sold out nationwide (and that's why my truck's been there for 2 days on what's supposed to be a 2-hour job). When I search some of the Toyota OEM online shops five different pump assemblies are showing up despite filtering down by Year (2018), Trim (TRD), and Transmission (AT). I find it hard to believe that 5 years after the bulk of this recall that there's zero low-pressure fuel pumps anywhere in the country.
