I rotated my tires and now i have a humming noise from the rear of the truck that is distinct at low speeds ( 45-60kmh or around 35 mph) humming either stops or gets drowned out at highway speed due to road noise - i can't really hear it other than the above speeds.

it was fine before i rotated tires - BUT the rears i had to kick off fairly hard as they were stuck on the rear drums.
I feel like i kicked the rear tire off too hard and now may have knocked something loose or offset the wheel bearing.

tires are new like 95% tread Micheline Defender ltx's, lugs torqued to 85ftlbs, seems to be coming from the pass rear side as when i hard steer at the above speed where noise is noticeable it gets louder and changes pitch.

any suggestions to what i do next or what the issue is?

I would give it a few thousand miles and see if the noise dissipates. It’s very likely that it’s just some uneven wear that you couldn’t see that you’re hearing and will even out how that they have been rotated.

Is your truck lifted? If it’s not lifted, I doubt it’s the needle bearings that are shot. This is coming from someone who has the ECGS bushings and had the needle bearings go and I have also had tires that are louder immediately after rotating just while uneven wear caught up.

@Road_Warrior thanks for reply. No it is completely stock. I have also tried driving with 4x4 and no 4x4 and its the same noise so i wonder if that cancels out it being the needle bearing.

Yeah I mean I’m no expert by any means but I would say it’s probably just a little uneven tire wear that will fix itself after a bit of driving.

You didn't throw anything out of whack kicking off the rear tires, no matter how good a kick you've got..

Unless you have super hero strength, I doubt you damaged your wheel bearing by kicking your tire.

I think you might be worrying about nothing.
