Was purchased last year advertised as TRD off-road. VIN# search doesn't indicate TRD info. Originally purchased in Sask, Canada. I don't believe it is a TRD Off Road but more likely a Pro or Sport given its options.

    - 2006 Tacoma v6 4x4, dbl cab, 6' box. (no TRD stickers on box or SR5 labels)
    - AC 110 volt outlet in box, switchable on dash.
    - Matching exterior handles, mirrors (powered), power windows/locks
    - hood scoop
    - rear differential differential c7 090105 0259 - LSD Oil Only sticker (mechanical limited slip)

I've tried to search the diff part to find out if it is helicoil geared (hoping its Detroit TruTrac) or clutched mechanism but have been unable to find much in results. My guess is that its a Sport, but still not certain. Anyone have a guess?
Edit- added pic for better description.

Pro didn't exist in 2006. You either have a Sport or an Offroad.

Based on what you listed, you likely have a Sport

Knowledge appreciated. I wasn't certain about the Pro option. Is it possible that its just a standard model with hood scoop, AC in the box, exterior color matched and LSD options added? I've heard there are lumbar support in the seats of the sport and this one doesn't have that? **EDIT - it DOES have lumbar (i was mistaken) Perhaps Sport didn't do those for that late year?

I'm guessing Sport with all the color matched parts.

I am not sure. Usually if it has a scoop, bed AC, and color matched handles, then its a sport.

Sounds like it's a TRD Sport, if you have the VIN I can drop it into TIS and see what it says.

@Shakane like others have said, it's a Sport. TRD OR also didn't come with a DCLB (Double Cab Long Bed). SR5 wouldn't come with the amenities you mentioned, unless they REALLY modded it.
Did you try dropping the VIN into the Toyota App vs. generic VIN Lookup? Either way, TRD Sport. If they haven't been replaced, they'll also have the Bilstein Sport shocks on it, and Sport Alloy Wheels.

I'm gonna roll with that. :) I just paid $3500 for a new (used) frame and Toyota installed for $8000 (Canadian loonies). Toyota coated the frame in 2017 instead of swapping which hid the deep rot that i later discovered and failed inspection. Hate to report that Toyota left me holding the bag after MUCH MUCH deliberation. That with new rotors and brakes, axles, steering assembly, i've basically paid for this truck twice now. But it is the truck i've dreamed of owning. Power train is solid and the oils is golden. I didn't want to feel like a fraud by sticking on TRD Sport decals if it wasn't one. But with all the Sport options, i can't see why not? Not planning of ever selling it, so i'm not really worried about misrepresenting.

Here is the VIN# 5TEMU52N76Z149574 I didn't see TRD options listed at all on the search i did.

I'm not registered there but will do so. Thx. :) Edit- turns out i was registered there, but is throwing back a "Process Error" when i search the VIN. Could be the crazy Canadian registry doesn't jive? :p Will check Toyota Canada maybe. Edit - I think I do have standard rims? (pic further down) so if i put Sport decal on i'll be adding new alloy rims shocks do appear to be Bilstein (see pic). If it wasn't a Sport before, the conversion will be undetectable with those done. ;)

These shocks look a bit tired. But they are Bilstein. Due for new ones i think.

Yea looks like it's an early VIN before they started putting all the package info in the database unfortunately.

Hey Much thx Dm93. I really appreciate that info, wasn't coming up for me. All my arguing with Toyota over the frame might have blacklisted me. :p Realizing i have the lumbar dial now as well. I'm pretty convinced its a Sport for sure. Gonna order some decals with confidence. :p

Pic of the diff if anyone knows if its clutched or gear mechanical? differential c7 090105 0259. Thanks for all the response and info. :)

The 06 Sport rear diff is a mechanical limited slip, I believe it's a clutch type.

Sounds right Dm93. I've read some prefer geared for less potential maintenance over the clutched type. Most my driving is on a clean hwy. I did plow home in crazy blizzard in Feb this year down a country road when the hwys were closed. My other 2007 RWD 2.7L taco would have never made it. :p I was quite impressed with the traction i had getting in and out of large drifts and my driveway even with all season tires and not dedicated winter ones. I can't imagine for my general use that the clutches will go out or need replacing too soon. Have heard if I jack up the rear end can test by turning axle and taking notice that both wheels turn same direction to confirm proper operation.

Thanks again for help and response. :)

OP - a Truetrac Torsen is available as a replacement for the factory clutch LSD.

I upgraded mine when the factory LSD grew tired.

A fantastic upgrade, seamless and effective in operation.
