I'm currently in Sedona with the family trying to get some camping in, but all of the primitive, trail side camp sites are blocked off and every trail says that primitive camping is strictly prohibited. The only sites I can find that allow camping are basically dirt parking lots with 50 RVs and/or rigs side by side. Not my idea of camping.

I rely heavily on my FunTreks trail books, but apparently all of the sites listed in the book have since closed.

    Any recommendations?

Go towards Mingus Mountain, everything around Sedona got closed. The few spots just fill with RV/Vanlifers

I just came off Mingus Mountain. Too cold up there tonight. Not for me an my wife, but I have two kiddos sleeping below in the annex. I didn't bring a heater.

I dont know how far you want to drive. Unfortunately they closed a bunch and lots still under winter closures.

Did you check going in 761 then making way west and north? I think that might be open.

I ended up trailside camping on Horseshoe Canyon. For some reason, Sedona decided to get cold and wet the week I chose to go. Oh well. We still had fun, but until Sedona gets trail camping back, I won't be back. Tent camping in a parking lot with 40+ Van lifer hippies doesn't do it for me. I'll post a trip report shortly.

I don't think I'll try camping near Sedona until everything opens back up. With everything closed except FR525, I had some hope since I had a spot off of Diamond Back Gulch trail. Now it looks like everything is fenced off like they are doing desert rejuvenation. Camping only allowed in designated spots and every one that I saw was flooded with RV's, smh. So much for dispersed camping.

Yea. There’s some actual open space. But south closer to Cottonwood basically.
    It’s not what it was.

I tried Mingus. It was empty, but cold the days I was there. Nice campsites though.

Ran Schnebly Hill last weekend, all open, from I-17 on down. Plenty of spots up top / the last mile or so up by the highway.
