Speaking from experience, carry what you will fight with. Whether it’s taken away or not afterwards is not even a consideration.
Unless we are talking about a drop gun, and then that’s the wrong way to acquire a drop gun.

5.7 is an awesome caliber. Academy had the M&P 5.7 on sale this past weekend for $580. I was tempted but am leaning toward the PSA Rock instead.

Picked up my second suppressor today. This one is a Rugged Obsidian 9. It can be run in a long configuration for maximum suppression, or shorter for less weight and bulk while still being hearing safe.

G19 threaded barrel is a Faxon fluted barrel.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I wonder if there is some internal work (polishing, etc) that could be done to fix that inconsistency.

That would drive me f'n nuts.

I shot a friend's Sig .357 Sig... it did that. I was, like, ya bud you can keep that shit. F'n hated that gun.

I definitely have a problem because I’m already looking at 9mm carbines and 300BO pistols.

have to! have to get the most bang for your buck!
I bought a TBAC Ultra 5 early April, apparently I am not on the hours or days list and have been waiting for almost a month,,, but not ready to complain yet, as I have waited for well over a year for Form 1s and 4s.

And you'd have to be a masochist to reload either 5.7 or 357 sig.

I'll fight with my carry any day. But it depends on which day you're talking.

If I could carry any of my (favorite) handguns. Not having to worry about weight, or comfort, or printing, or all the other considerations, it would be the top one. It shoots even better than it looks, and my opinion she is very sexy.

My 1911 is hands down my favorite gun. It's carried sometimes, but mostly in the winter or when I'm wheeling in open carry friendly areas. It's also the one you'd be looking at if you came in my house uninvited.

The 45 Colt is carried a LOT. But it's carried when I'm hiking and or hunting.

The Browning is a nice little piece. It's kind of fancy carry. It was my uncle's carry pistol. Basically the only one he CC'd. (I actually really like that one).

The Sheild is the go to EDC. It's basically out of the package other than the Hogue sleeve. I've considered doing some work to it, but it doesn't really need any.

    20240430_172510.jpg

There are others in the collection, but those are the ones I have close to me most often. I'm proficient with all of them. And would absolutely fight with any of them. But each one of them has their thing about them.

The 1911 is just the sexiest though (looks and function)... but I think I already mentioned that.

Although I don't reload. I really should. 300 BLK is f'n expensive. (Well, all ammo is expensive now).

But every catastrophic failure I've ever seen (personally) or have actual first hand knowledge of was a result of a bad reload. That shit just doesn't make me excited about it.

Plus that's just another hobby I'd end up throwing too much time and money at.

Reloading 5.7 and 357 sig really isn't more dangerous, it's just a royal PITA. The stupid coating on 5.7 to keep it from sticking to chamber walls and the neck tension issues in bottleneck 357sig. Juice just ain't worth that squeeze :)

Oh I have absolutely ZERO use for .357 sig.

It's an answer to a question no one was asking. My opinion, it serves no purpose.

I feel the same way about 40 cal. The first handgun I ever bought was a Glock 23. It's also the only handgun I ever sold.

And that's coming from a person who feels that guns are like dogs. And you never get rid of them. They are your children. I put that child up for adoption. Plus that was a few years ago and I needed a way to convince my wife the high clearance bumper didn't cost as much as it did...

    9mm +P does everything a 40 cal will do

    Never really understood +P anything

Reloading 40S&W cannot be compared to loading those bottleneck/lacquered cartridges. Glock 24 is probably one of my favorite Glocks. 40cal PCC is the bees knees.

    I don't understand 40 cal

Like I said, earlier, the Glock 23 was the first handgun I ever bought. Probably because of the propaganda in the gun magazines at the time. I think it was another answer to a question that wasn't really being asked. It was a better question and answer than the 357 sig stupidity, but I think it was mainly to get people to buy another gun in another caliber because it was newer and cooler.

A friend of mine told me that it’s a simple matter of tuning the extractor. Haven’t played around with it yet.
