I did ask my son if he noticed the new high clearance mod

I got a call from the collision shop. The guys words were "The truck got hurt real bad, man."

The frame is fucked, along with the bed, gate, dents on the cab from the bed hitting it, and there is a pretty big gap (about 1") between the hood and the passenger side front panel. His estimate so far was a little over 20 grand, and that doesn't include any mechanical damage yet (although the truck still drove and felt fine for the week I drove it until I brought it to the shop). He said it will most likely be totaled. I am pretty upset. I liked my 3rd gen. Now I have to go buy a used one because there's no way I'm going to buy a 24. Even the tonneau cover got messed up.

I got a small Nissan frontier for a rental. I don't like it, although the seat is.... easier to drive in, I guess. The turning radius sucks. You hit the steering wheel limit a lot sooner that you'd expect. Like, really soon. The ride is bumpy in the cheap, small car kind of way. It made me miss my taco even more.
