This plastic clip is located on the frame in the exact place the owners manual tells you to place your jack. I asked the dealer and they had no idea what the clips are for. They said every time they place a Tacoma on their lifts it snaps these off. Both of mine are now broken off. Does anyone have any idea what these are for? There is one on each side behind the front tires on the bottom of the frame.

I looked it up once. It is to keep salt spray from getting into the frame. I live in the south and I removed them the first time I used a floor jack. Doesn’t look very effective to me.

It's a one-way drain valve. The service manual the 'factory trained' stealership techs supposedly use specifically says to avoid these when lifting the vehicle. It's a stupid location but still possible to not destroy these.
