Looking for suggestions on steel/braded front lines, I installed ones from Headstrong, and after my last trip during inspection noticed that the plastic shielding cracked and now exposed braid is right at the edge of connection, don't feel like its going last long before it will damage over time and develop crack and start leaking.

Anyone have suggestions for different brand, and i have extended coil overs in front should i get longer, or OEM length should work? my current lift is 2.3"

I’ve bolted some stuff to it *lists cool stuff here*
Crown performance, not sure if you need longer with that lift or you can leave it out of one of the clips perhaps but they can make custom lengths. Some off road shops sell pre made lines built by crown..

Edit: Looks like crown sells kits for Tacoma based on lift on their website

+1 on the Crown Performance. That's what I'm running. And you can order custom length and any color combo you want.

I've got a new set of +4" lines made by @SomethingNew71 I'll sell you for $60 shipped. I got them for a Wilwood brake kit but ended up not being able to use the fronts since the Wilwood calipers need different fittings than OEM.

AFAIK, Headstrong just sells Crown lines. Although I think OP just got a bad part, or something else happened. Crown makes quality stuff.

Is your plastic sleeve rubbing on the frame or cracking by itself?

I'm running Trail Gear +4" braided lines and the sleeve is cracked where it rubs on bumpstop mount. Kinda unavoidable with longer lines. I just carry a spare line and bottle of DOT3 on the trail.

mine is not rubbing but crack of the plastic occurred right at the edge of the metal sleeve, so now when it flexes it flexes more on that spot, so i am worried over time of more flexing it will eventually give out and have break.

^Yeah that's known to happen even with designs that use a plastic strain relief instead of the metal sleeve. Just keep an eye on it at every oil change and replace if any braid wires are broken. Might be several years before that happens.

It's advisable to keep a spare anyway, because even a perfectly good line can be severed by an errant tree branch on the trail.

Bummer that the fittings are different. If you know the fittings on the Wilwood brakes I can get a custom set made for you at materials cost to help you out. I wanna make sure people who order these lines are happy!

I appreciate the offer but the brake kit actually came with stainless lines for the front that are approximately the same length as the lines you sold me. I did use the rear lines and was able to sell the fronts to another user to defray some of the cost. Thanks again, good doing business with you.

Just purchased a set of your OEM length stainless braided brake lines in clear. Plan to install them on a set of Power Stop calipers and replace the rear brake lines.

Thank you. Once I have the lines I will order the brakes, they will only take a day or 2 before they are delivered. I appreciate your attention to my order.
