Does this look like damage from transport/delivery?

I took my new Tacoma to get it ceramic coated today, and as i was walking back outside (before they did anything) i noticed this dent on the passenger side cab. Does this look like damage that could have been from transport/delivery to dealer. I know they will say you’ve had it a week so we don’t know how it happened. Anyway i have a PDR guy going to look at it in a few days, hopefully he can hot glue it out or one of his other tools.

 

The picture actually looks worse than in person.

 

I want to say we had someone here or I saw it on the other forum that had a dent similar to that.

swing by the dealer & ask, worse case they tell you no.
I think they will actually take care of it regardless....
they also have access to pdr & tell them thats the route you prefer, last thing you want is having them repaint a panel...
I had paint correction done by dealer 2 months after buying mine.
yes, different scenario but worth a shot.

looking at that other post on 4g, the dent is pretty similar, just a different location.
I would fork out the money to have your guy fix it...

I hate to say it, but I don't think that can be taken out by PDR.

 

I have a PDR appointment Tuesday, we will see. I never noticed it when taking delivery, too excited i guess, and really I didn’t even see it until yesterday and i had already taken a picture on Monday and didn’t notice it. But look at this picture and you can spot it. I never did…geeeez.

 

The dealer will tell you they did a “thorough inspection” before handing over the truck and that obviously is your fault and they are not responsible

Yeah, not even taking it to the dealer…my fault for not doing a through inspection. I’ll get it fixed one way or the other. My body shop friend said they will get it 98% like new…i would be good with that.

 

left side of your rear bumper, already have a large'ish paint chip, or is that light glare?
how far is your dealer, right down the road?
what do you have to lose? They also have access to PDR, they will bill it to toyota, defects....
Unless you know how it happened...
pdr isnt going to be $50, more like $200 especially in florida, you guys get raped on all services....
If he choses to not do the glue/stick, they will have to disassemble the interior panels to access the backside so the can push-out / manipulate the metal....

Even if they had a guy on camera hitting it with a ball peen hammer, the dealer will always deflect and blame the customer.

 

Maybe contact the dealer, tell them you don't really like the truck and are considering trading it in. See where that goes, then mention you noticed the dent.

 

What would that solve?

 

I’ve had pdr done on my tailgate before and every spot that got pdr became a rust spot yrs later.
Personally I’m gonna leave the small dents.
It must have broken the bond of paint to body and got moisture in it?

 

Anyone else think this looks like the back of a Maverick?
