Yeeeeah nah... this shit ain't workin for me. :tumbleweed:

Went on a short little highway jaunt this morning and it was nonstop wind blowing shit around in my fenderwells, had to pull over and saw more liner off, and my mileage had tanked even though I was still running p-metrics.

I'm going back to stock tire size. Anyone need a deal on barely used 33s? If discount won't swap em back for OEM size for me...

At the end of the day this thing is my DD and losing straight up 3-4 MPG because of aerodynamics is just too big of a dick kick for the extra .5" ground clearance.

Dude, you either want to have the big tire look/functionality, or good gas mileage, ain't no in between. Feel your pain though!

Pretty much this. Was much easier for me to commit to bigger tires once the 60 mile round trip commute to/from work ended.

Even now it's all over the place 12.9-14.7 on the way to Montana with no gfc on. Return trip with camper on 15-19.8 same roads same speed. Difference in wind and slight downslope most the way made all the difference.

Yup, and that's why I made the decision to go back to OEM.

Thought I could sneak it but nah. Maybe someday if I have another vehicle.

I hear rumors of a Toyota built Miata competitor, which tickles my fancy but also makes me worry we're not gonna see an MR2. A little 3 banger with a turbo would be giggles.

Yeah my commute is about 50 miles round trip a day.

Coming back from Moab I hit damn near 25 MPG. That descent out of Flag is real easy.

Gr86 is the closest Miata competitor out there at the moment. Subaru engine but Toyota chassis.
My BRZ which is the same thing has treated me well and it’s up to 150k

Yeah the 86 / BRZ has always kind of intrigued me.

No IMT (auto rev match) makes me a little sad.

Also having owned 2 Subarus in my life...
my reaction when an EJ25 gets near me

    :rofl::rofl:
(I know the BRZ/86 isn't an EJ but still, Japanese boxers stoke some deep reptilian fear in me)

Yeah I still trust my taco at 300k more than the boxer at 150k
It’ll probably get replaced soon, too worried it’ll blow up on me on of these days. But to be fair it has given me basically zero issues besides needing a new clutch.

How is a stock size look in this fender now? Looks to me like you're committed to 33s at this point. Just like I DIDN'T tell my son when he bought his first car yesterday. Form over function!

The replacement parts from Toyota to bring everything back to stock are surprisingly cheap. I can put in brand new fender liners and a new bumper pretty easily.

I feel like there was some conversation recently about rattlers..... thought I'd share some of my recent visitors. (Last 2 days) And before anyone wants to chastise me for killing the rattler, this guy was not having any conversation about moving or relocating. He was definitely a threat to my kids and dogs. I wouldn't think of killing one in the wild and I've relocated a few. Biggest I've had on my property at around 4 1/2 ft.
