We're in Philly this weekend. Bridge closures just seem to follow us. Norwalk closed 95. That's fun.

@RockfishTaco - not that Nate has a bumper, BUT Nate just went through an attempt at color matching, and got the wrong silver.

I'm looking at spending a few days to a week this summer up in the Adirondacks, specifically the Moose River Plains area. Have any of you folks spent any time up there and can share some intel?

I don't have much experience with heims. I think it would really depend on the setup and REALLY depend on the specific alloy. Whatever these FK WSSX uniballs are made from is really, really good stuff, the steel still looks perfect even after the liner has disintegrated (the dead uniballs are great fidget toys!), but as you know not all stainless is made equal.

Heims are basically uniballs on a stick same thin teflon liner and I think uniballs/heims are made by the same companies. I think theyd have similar results.

I've been wanting to check that area out since moving back, but it's still very much mud season so I've held off exploring. I'll definitely let you know what I find!

Oh, @drmk24 would probably know more than me

They walk among us... The level of stupidity with some people is just staggering sometimes. Because you know the idiot who loaded that is looking at the car all proud of himself and thinking 'yup, nailed it'.

MRP is an awesome area to camp and explore. There are two gates into "the plains" one in Indian Lake which is close to Cedar River Flow, and one in Inlet by Limekiln Lake. These gates typically do not open to vehicle traffic until around Memorial Day weekend. There is a Facebook page ( ) that tells you when they open, and what gates are open, as some gates are open earlier than others. There is also a lot of info on that FB page that is very helpful. I've spent many nights up there, usually about a week per year, and absolutely love it up there. It's very remote, no cell service, and depending on how far you go very little other people. The roads, when open, are well maintained and are easily accessible. There are very few options or areas where 4wd is needed, it is common for a civic to be able to drive through the area. There are a ton of campsites, all on a first come first serve basis. I've never not been able to find a site, but there are some beautiful sites that have direct water access that are harder to come by. If you are to go, and have a canoe or kayak (no motor access on Cedar Rive Flow), some of the spots on the Flow are my favorite. They are harder to get to, as you can not drive to them, but the are extremely isolated and quiet, which it what I like. Then there are spots all along several of the roads. You get a picnic table, a fire pit, and a privy. For a first timer, I would encourage you to just find a spot and set up, then go explore. You can spend days hiking, paddling, and driving in the area. Many people have spotted a moose at Helldiver Pond, I haven't been so lucky - yet. Feel free to send me a message if you want to know anything else.

Even better, he was adding more wood when I drove by. The trunk was full of drywall mud (it wasn't latching...but I'm pretty sure the next time he slammed it, it would totally work).

I work with a lot of extremely intelligent people and I tend to feel a bit dumb when I leave work for the day. Then I go out into the general population and suddenly I don't feel so bad about myself.

I was on I-91S coming home from Vermont and somebody was transporting a rolled up rug crossways thru the two back windows. I was worried they'd kill a motorcyclist in an adjoining lane.

I used to work in NB part time, back in the early to mid 1990s. Or as we called it, "The Land That Time Forgot."

I always avoided I95 through CT if at all possible. Of course being in RI you might not have that option. I usually came down I-84 and jumped on the Merritt Pkwy, then over the Tappenzee Bridge, and then would take the Garden State Parkway as far south as possible. Avoid I-95, avoid going through NYC.

I used to say that if a car lost a hubcap on I-95 at the New York state line, it would back traffic up to Providence.

+1. If I can make it.

Yeah same. 95 blows through there. We usually take 95 to the merit. Your other option is 6 out to Hartford which blows even more.

Next time plane or train is a real potential. Philly is an American hub and AA flies out of PVD a lot.

We're looking at the week after the 4th of July, and can probably fit 1-2 more trucks, there are two of us right now, if any of you are interested in coming with us.
