Hey all. Time for the first oil change since I bought the Taco. Where is the best/cheapest place to buy your oem parts from?
    Thanks

Wally World sells OEM filters for your Taco and they have lots of oil!

The filter is $5 or $6 from the dealer and they include a new crush washer for the drain plug, so I can't imagine it's worth paying shipping.
As mentioned Walmart and others offer OE filters and oil deals, so you can probably consolidate trips and buy there.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I buy the oem filters at Walmart. Oil is either at Walmart or Costco when they run sales on Mobil 1 or Kirkland.

anytime I went to the dealer I was harassed by sales people to buy something new and it takes 15 minutes for the parts counter to get the filter, ring me up, and give me the part.

OEM parts in general can be found at most dealership around the country. I used to get my parts from Camelback Toyota in Phoenix. They seemed to have a pretty extensive warehouse and got me many odd parts pretty quick. The only downside is it took a few extra days shipping and sometimes the shipping was more expensive because I'm on the east coast.

Then I found Conicelli Toyota just outside Philly and about 45 minutes from me in South Jersey. Good prices. I have yet to order even the most oddest of parts and I have it within a week. One other thing, the dealerships have bulk purchases, like OEM filters, that you can buy. I think my first set of oil filters I paid less than $4 a filter when I bought 6.

There's also Sparks Toyota. I mention them because if you need an expensive part, you can use the "Chloe5" discount from Chloe Kuo's YT channel. I used them when I bought my LED headlights and saved almost $70. She has an interesting channel too if you want to take a peak. https://www.chloekuo.com/tacoma

Lastly, it's worth mentioning that many of these online dealerships don't have the most extensive parts breakdowns, but if you have the part number and put it into the search bar of your chosen online dealer's website it will come up. In this case, I use Partsoug.com I'm sure there are others

I buy my OEM parts online at https://autoparts.toyota.com and select to pick them up at a nearby dealership. Prices are always cheaper than the going to the dealers parts desk. Note that some dealers offer bigger discounts than others. I use 2: The closest one has higher prices so I buy filters and other inexpensive items there. No sense in using $4 in gas to save $1.50. The one 10 miles further offers much better discounts so I buy the pricier stuff there.

    I have been using https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/

So far, they are cheaper, OEM, and fairly quick shipping. My local dealership parts department prices are quite a bit more expensive.

You just need to scrutinize the seller to make sure you are not getting counterfeit parts.

I had browsed this website in the past, but never ordered from them. I took a look again to see how their prices compared to my local dealer. It turned out that they were 3 bucks more for an order that totaled over $300, so 1% higher. I didn't see a free shipping option so there is that charge on top.

The big issue I have with this site is that they were not able to verify that the part numbers I provided were correct for my truck. When I entered my VIN it rejected it saying it was unable to process. When I tried to add a vehicle manually it would only allow me to select up to the year 2022 so if you have a newer model you better be sure of your part numbers because this vendor will not confirm. Weird too that it will find an item if you give the proper part number, but when you search for the text used in the description of the item that you just found, it will not find it.

Anyhow, I'll be sticking with the local dealer for OEM stuff.
