It was very comforting to text with my wife and friends to keep in touch and that they could see my live location at anytime (10 min. delay, so almost live).

Six years since my last reply... Perhaps new TW members will enjoy a look at my Baja California Sur research trip of 2017... Highway 5 was under construction at the southern end back then. It was completed in 2020. The rancher at La Capilla (the La Pasión mission location) I called 'Modesto' is actually named 'Modes' and his father is Max. They have since made a campground with showers next to their ranch and the mission ruins. Here is the Facebook page:
Sadly, the road guide I made after the 8 Baja research trips still has not been published by Baja Bound Insurance but you can see some sample pages, including all of Highway 5, here: https://vivabaja.com/baja-bound-road-guide/

As always, let me know if I can be of assistance and do get a copy of my Baja Missions book, now in its 14th printing: 'Baja California Land of Missions' (signed copies at www.oldmissions.com ). Find more Baja travel and history on my www.vivabaja.com site.
