I just bought the 24 tacoma 4x4 limited. it has the i-force engine. Not much power to it. comfortable truck but back seat is tiny and not all that thrilled. Just my opinion. Larry Miller in peoria has a couple sr5, and I believe scottsdale has a couple tacoma's as well right now. scottsdale wants to charge over msrp which I would never pay. Larry Miller seemed to be fair

If you’re even paying MSRP right now, you’re a moron. BIG discounts coming

Hmm nope. I see your point. I guess I'm not used to the smaller truck. still seems like it should have a bit more power, especially if I were going to tow something

Yeah, that is not really how it works. Not much need to drag race the truck while towing a load. I have driven the new Ranger, Canyon, and Tacoma and I can assure you they are all about the same to each other. ALL 3 will have zero problem getting you to 80mph entering the freeway. And the Tacoma is a lot better in power than the 3rd gen.

Check out TFL videos since they have several towing and drag racing videos on the new trucks.

The 4th generation has a different engine than 3rd generation. this is the first year for the i-force engine. 4 cylinder 2.4 turbo.

True, turbo will work differently (though I've never owned a turbo vehicle). The computer is probably still in the initial learning phase as well.

    Welcome to TW!!

Hi OP! I too came from a Subaru, a Legacy 3.6R. You can eat anybody with it and take corners however the hell fast you want. Not so in a Tacoma. It took me probably a month to adjust to it. Give it some time and try to see what you like about the Taco. If you still don’t like it in a few thousand miles, you’ll probably be able to unload it and come out a wash. Good luck!
