There should be a recall on every 2GR-FKS ever built tbh

I hear ya… we put the window ac unit in the garage and rented a tranny jack too. Was still a pain but I’m cheap. Fingers crossed our replacements fare better than the originals.

Not sure of this but it seems you dont hear quite as much on the newer 3rd Gens but I guess the 2016 & 2017 models were quite well known for this.

The 2016 & 2017's are the oldest and chances are highest mileage. If it's true, that no changes were made to the bypass in newer years then, its only a matter of time.

True. I haven't read anywhere, or researched for that matter, if that part/part # changed at all in the later year models showing it may be "new and improved". Doubt it but can always hope.

2023s still shipped with a plastic coolant pipe. It's only a matter of time

Yep, guess it's when not if. Hoping to get at least another 45,000 or more miles out of this one.

Is it bad that I've been topping off the reservoir in my 2017 every other month for the past year? I know I have the leak, just don't have the funds to replace yet.

I did just monitor it for awhile but knowing I was going to keep the truck, especially with the cost of the new rides, I bit the bullet and had it replaced. I cannot remember reading about this happening but I guess I had it in the back of my mind wondering if the pipe would just blow then I'd be SOL and struck somewhere. Not that it still can't happen.
