Raw V. powder coat V. bedliner

Hi All,

Curious whether it would be a bad idea to use just raw rock sliders? Rust issues? I understand the functionality and the aesthetics of powder coat or bedliner, but just thought I would reach out and see what people have to say? thanks

 

I coated my RCIs with this stuff, and it has lasted for over 5 years. Only once did I touch up shortly after, and those were spots I missed.
I would not leave uncoated carbon steel to rust.

 

Rustoleum automotive primer followed by rustoleum satin black paint. Can touch up any time if I need.

 

I have some BAMF rocksliders I am looking to do the same thing Evan_P did with his, just some rattle can primer and satin or flat black, then when you scrape, just reapply... with a cardboard backer that is....

 

BTW Where the hell are you, I know in WA or MN raw would get eaten alive, AZ maybe not so much...

 

depends entirely on conditions.

in the middle of snow country, raw metal starts rusting before you even have a chance to un-box them.

in arizona, paint isn't worth the effort...
